- Except where provided for in these rules the laws of association Dodgeball shall apply. General UKDBA Laws of Dodgeball can be viewed on the website www.ukbda.org
- It is the responsibility of the team captain / manager to ensure all club players are aware of all Inter Dodgeball rules associated with the league.
- Teams must complete the conditions of entry sheet to register into a league.
- Teams must pay the registration fee by the first week of a league.
- Upon registration to the league all teams will be affiliated to the UKDBA by InterDodgeball leagues Ltd.
- Postponements can only be made upon team registration & prior to the season starting. NO POSTPONEMENTS WILL BE ALLOWED DURING THE SEASON. In extreme circumstances teams may cancel a game during the season but will incur a match fee fine and will automatically lose the game 7–0 in leagues and 5-0 in competitions.
- The competition will follow a league basis. Three points will be awarded for a win. 1 point for a draw, and 0 points for a loss. Teams will be placed in the league in order of points; then by head-to-head results; and then by game points won.
- Teams shall be placed within divisions as determined by the league organizers.
- We will issue a full fixture list at the beginning of every season. After this it is the team’s responsibility to follow these correctly. If there are queries call us at the office for clarification.
- Teams must pay the appropriate match fee to the on site coordinator by cheque, by cash or to the office prior to their first match each week.
- Cheques should be made payable to InterDodgeball Ltd, a charge of £10 will be issued to any person whose cheque is returned by our bank unpaid, to cover costs.
- A fine will be imposed if your team does not turn up for their arranged match. The fine will equal twice your usual league match fee (yours and your opponent’s fee). If you fail to turn up for two consecutive weeks you will be suspended from the league and pending investigation may be removed from the league and incur the full cost of all games missed up to the end of the season.
- Teams shall keep a register of playing members and those who have actually played. The information must be produced to the league within 7 days of any request for it.
- There is no limit to the amount of players you are permitted in your squad provided we have their details on the team sheet. Awards will however be limited to 10 per qualifying team.
- Teams will be 6 a side. Unless otherwise specified.
- Each team must provide two referees to officiate one match that they are not playing. One player will referee one team and keep the scores; the other player will referee the other team and keep the stopwatch. It is recommended that teams also supply two Line Judges to assist their referees. The coordinators and league officials will give help accordingly.
- The team must arrive fifteen minutes before their game commences, so that you are ready to start on time and we can also settle your match fees.
- Players must wear appropriate footwear i.e. non-marking trainers.
- All leagues will run under the jurisdiction of the UKDBA. Players should be aware that cautionable offences may result in fines and bans from any competition run by InterDodgeball and the UKDBA.
- A team may only change their name once they have been sanctioned if Inter Dodgeball agrees to this.
- Games will be played in a public area. Hence the highest standards of behavior are expected from all participants. All participants are expected to show appropriate respect and courtesy towards opponents, teammates and officials alike. Failure to adhere to this rule may lead to a caution or sending off.
- Taunting will result in a player or team warning for the first offence. The second offence by a team results in the forfeit of the game. Repeated offences will cause the match to be forfeited by the offending team. Inter Dodgeball promotes equality and fairness and does not tolerate taunting in any form.
- Foul language, poor sportsmanship or continued questioning of the officials judgement will result in the game currently being played to be forfeited by the offending team. The match continues, if games remain, with the offending team playing with 5 players for the remainder of the match. The player who is sent off shall not be allowed to take any further part in the league on that day and will receive a minimum two-week ban from InterDodgeball, which takes immediate effect.
- A £10 fine will accompany each sending off offence to the team.
- No substitute is allowed for a player dismissed for misconduct during the match in which the offence occurred.
- Any fighting will result in the immediate disqualification from all of InterDodgeball leagues for all the people involved. This may also result in the removal of whole teams.
- Any InterDodgeball official, or coordinator, can act as a third official and can report any incident on or off the pitch to league organizers. Such reports can lead to fines or bans.
- All appeals / grievances regarding league or cup competitions must be made in writing to Inter Dodgeball Ltd within 5 days of the incident.
- In the unlikely event your opposition doesn’t turn up we will always try to arrange a friendly. These games will be charged at £7.50.
- Should the appointed referee fail to appear for a fixture then InterDodgeball Ltd will arrange for a suitable replacement to officiate the game at short notice.
- Teams can have up to 2 guest players as long as the referee & opposing team agrees before the match starts and the referee doesn’t feel the games outcome will be dramatically altered. Teams may not use guest players as substitutes.
- If a guest player is disciplined during the game then the team manager is still liable for any fine imposed.
- The Inter Dodgeball does not provide First Aid. Teams should make their own first aid provisions.
- If in the event of an ambulance being called and a subsequent charge is made by the ambulance service then you and your team shall be liable for that cost
- In the event of a team leaving the league, a replacement will be found as quickly as possible and will inherit the previous team’s points and game difference. Should a replacement not be found fixtures will be altered accordingly.
- Any team who pulls out of the league or is ejected before its completion will be liable to pay for their remaining fixtures in full.
- Teams who do not clear their arrears can and will face legal action.
- In the event of fees being outstanding and unpaid InterDodgeball reserves the right to charge statutory interest.
- Trophies will not be awarded to any qualifying team who has not cleared any arrears within two weeks of the league finishing.
- InterDodgeball Ltd reserves the right to prohibit any player or team from participating in any game arranged by us. Failure to adhere to any of the rules may lead to such prohibition.
- The league accepts no responsibility for the loss of or damage to any property belonging to teams or any other person. Personal possessions in changing rooms or courtside are left entirely at owners’ own risk.
- Parking - Users of the parking facilities at a venue should position their vehicles in such a manner as to allow adequate access for emergency services. Vehicles should be parked in an orderly fashion and not in a way that causes annoyance or inconvenience to the occupiers of any private property. In particular vehicles should not be parked on grassed areas adjacent to designated parking areas or entrances.
- league accepts no responsibility for the loss of or damage to vehicles. Parked vehicles whether in a designated parking area or not are left entirely at the drivers/owners own risk.
- Teams must have their own comprehensive personal accident and public liability insurance in place for each of its players. Copies of such policies must be produced to InterDodgeball representatives if requested.
- Indemnity and insurance – The teams shall indemnify the league against all damage to the premises or to the property in or on the premises and all claims in respect of personal injury (including injury resulting in death) or loss of or damage to property arising out of the negligent use of the premises or anything done permitted or omitted in the course of or as a consequence of such negligent use.
- The team shall effect and maintain adequate insurance cover in respect of the above obligation and must produce satisfactory evidence of such cover to the league on request.
- The league organisers reserve the right to alter any rule at any time. All teams will be notified of any changes.
RULES OF PLAY
The rules are in place for your safety and ours. We consider the rules as basic as they can be, but also fair. At all times you must adhere to the rules.
- Substitutions can be made after every game.
- Fixture list. Any team not ready within two minutes of the published start time will play the remainder of the allotted time as the full fixture. Any team not ready to start within 2 minutes of their scheduled start time will forfeit the first game. For every 2 minutes that a team is late, the team will forfeit one game.
- All leagues will run under the jurisdiction of the UKDBA. Players should be aware that cautionable offences may result in fines and bans from any competition run by Inter Dodgeball and the UKDBA.
- The referee’s decision is final.
- Variations in the facilities at venues may lead to slight variations in these rules. Therefore InterDodgeball Ltd reserves the right to alter any rule at any time. Teams will be notified of any changes.
- PARTICIPATION IN ANY SPORTING ACTIVITY IS ENTIRELY AT YOUR OWN RISK AND THE ORGANISERS, THEIR AGENTS OR SERVANTS DO NOT ACCEPT LIABILITY FOR ANY PERSONAL INJURY OR LOSS/DAMAGE TO PROPERTY HOWSOEVER CAUSED.
